Pastor Asif Raza

We first became acquainted with Pastor Asif Raza when we received an email from him asking for a copy of Lifting the Veil, along with our permission to translate the book into Urdu. The first thing that struck me was his humility and honor in asking our permission right up front for his intentions. As we inquired about his mailing address, we were quite touched to find he was attending the Gujranwala Theological Seminary in Gujranwala, Pakistan.

Pastor Asif  Raza is a very unique individual. He was born into a Christian, Bible believing home in a muslim believing country. He is the oldest of five children, all boys. He and his brothers know the struggle and suffering of attending public school and receiving their education as a minority in their country. Pastor Asif went on to the University and then to Seminary.

Yet, being dedicated at an early age for ministry by his mother, the passion of leading people to God never left him. He was called to ministry and made his commitment in June of 1997. Pastor Asif then spent two years in street ministry there, in spite of the danger that went with it.

Pastor Asif has attended Gujranwala Theological Seminary for two years, with fourteen months left. His week days are spent in classes, his weekends are spent traveling the surrounding villages preaching and ministering to the less fortunate.

Besides having a great heart filled with passion, he is also a very intelligent, accomplished man speaking five languages: Punjabi, Urdu, English, Sarieke, and Pothari.
